We have all heard of the NERF brand, makers of every kind of weapon that we can shoot foam darts with to have our own battles around the house and in the backyard. NERF has taken the battle at home one step further with this cool NERF Nightvision Camcorder. My 8 year old loved using it around the house to spy on people especially his older sisters.
This is not just any camcorder it is a Nightvision Camcorder and contains LED/IR lights that allow you to see up to 50 feet in the dark, pretty impressive for something that is supposed to be a toy. The buttons on the top allow you to play back videos and photos on the screen and offer other functions such as deleting files. The eye piece is lined with rubber allowing you to spy on unsuspecting sisters comfortably for quite some time. The Camcorder also has a SD slot for a SD card (not provided) to increase the amount of videos and pictures you can record/take. Also included is a USB port so you can download your movies and pictures to your computer and share them with everyone.
If only you could see the devious grin on his face behind the camcorder as he looks for his next victim.
The NERF Nightvision Camcorder features:
- Includes a night-vision camcorder, USB cable and a Vivitar Experience Image Manager CD
- Perfect for zeroing in on your pretend targets
- Camcorder allows you to see up to 50 feet in the dark and record video with 4x magnification
- Includes an expansion SD memory card slot (memory card not included) and USB port
- Videos and photos can be played back on the LCD screen
- Contains LED/IR lights
- Features mode, delete/IR flash, resolution, shutter/record, and Vivi-Link buttons
- Carry strap and removable lens covers are attached
- Eye piece is lined with rubber for comfort
We were also sent the Batman Adventure Kit to try out and it has some good features, but we did not like it nearly as well as the NERF Nightvision Camcorder. The three piece kit contains binoculars, a flashlight and a camera. The flashlight is a little bit under powered, with brand new batteries the light was very yellow and provided a very limited beam. The binoculars are your standard kid binoculars, nothing fancy and very limited zoom. The camera included is a film camera which is a little disappointing, who uses film cameras anymore except professionals, especially for one that a kid will use. Have you seen the cost to get a roll of film developed lately? It is a little crazy.
Overall my son really enjoyed the NERF Nightvision Camcorder for what is supposed to be a toy, it does its job pretty well and provided hours of enjoyment. The Batman Adventure Kit, was however disappointing and reminded me of something you would find in the $3 toy aisle at your local department store. The NERF Nightvision Camcorder would make an excellent gift idea for that special little boy in your life and you can get it right now on Amazon for 64% off here.
