Chupon describes themselves as the magic that happens when a Swiss chocolatier carefully infuses fruit and other exotic flavors into rich Swiss Neuchâtel chocolate, then shaved to create the ultimate melting and mixing chocolate. If you have seen the recipes I post you know I am a huge fan of chocolate and I love to bake so this review was meant to be. Chupon sells chocolate in three categories; Shaved Chocolate, Chocolate Drops and Chocolate Bars.
The Shaved Chocolate is available in three varieties; Green Tea White Chocolate, Mayan Chocolate and Mocha Chocolate, the Shaved Chocolate is ideal for baking, melting or to make a chocolate drink by mixing it with warm milk. The Chocolate Drops are available in Dark, Milk & White Chocolate and are ideal to be used in baking.
The Chocolate Bars are available in four chocolate varieties that include White Chocolate which has cocoa nibs throughout to add texture and crunch while cutting down the sweetness of the chocolate. The Swiss Dark Chocolate Bar is available in 75% Cacoa or 80% Cacoa and the final variety is Organic Swiss Milk Chocolate.
The Mayan Chocolate blends chocolate with spices such as Cinnamon and Chipotle Pepper, my husband is a lover of all things so spicy so he really enjoyed this chocolate. When you first bite it you can taste the cinnamon and then there is a slow tingle from the Chipotle, it is a good new way to experience chocolate. We also tried the 80% Cacoa which is a very dark chocolate, with very deep cocoa flavor. The last variety we tried was the Green Tea White Chocolate and for us it was just OK. None of us are a fan of Green Tea so it seemed a little weird to have that flavor mixed with chocolate, but if you are a fan of Green Tea then this is a flavor that you will probably love.
