Maggie and Mary’s was started by two women who met when they were Freshmen in college and both missed the bus back to campus and the friendship started from there. The idea behind Maggie and Mary’s is that everyone can benefit from easy, complete and delicious foods that can be prepared by just adding water.
I received the Be Well Chicken Soup and English Toffee Freezie Mix from Maggie and Mary’s for my family to try and see what we thought. Being a home schooling Mom of 3 I really love the idea of just add water. It has been very cold here in the Nashville area this year, we have not had this many single digit temperature days in a few years so a good ‘ol bowl of Chicken Soup was a great idea. All of the directions are printed on the back of the box and of course it has everything you need except for the water. At the end of our day I threw it all in a pot, cranked the heat up and by the time my husband arrived home from work I had a great meal prepared for a warm day, we added each persons favorite variety of Grilled Cheese and we were all set. The broth is very rich in flavor, has real chicken pieces with carrots and celery. The star of this soup is the dumplings, according to the website they are authentic German dumplings, and it was a treat every time a couple made it on to my spoon. This soup mix is very well packaged, easy to give as a gift or it would be a great get well gift for that friend that is under the weather.
If you look through my recipes or follow my blog you already know I am the biggest chocolate fan in the world. This English Toffee Freezie mix from Maggie and Mary’s combines rich chocolate with velvety smooth English Toffee for a refreshing, indulging drink that is amazing. Like other Maggie and Mary’s products preparation is simple, just add ice and skim milk. I am also a big fan of frozen coffee from that high dollar coffee shop we all know about. With the English Toffee Freezie Mix I can replace the milk with coffee to wake it up a bit and have a nice frozen coffee.
Maggie and Mary’s product line does not stop at soup and beverage mixes, they also offer dip mixes that vary from your traditional veggie dip to Spicy Cucumber and they also have cheeseball mixes with flavors such as Key Lime and Banana Foster, I bet either of those would liven up the party. All of the Maggie and Mary’s products can be purchased from North Aire Market who also sells Pop It! Top It! the amazing Snickerdoodle Popcorn I reviewed here a while back. This Valentine’s Day instead of going to a restaurant and waiting in line, instead stay home with that special someone and make then a nice, warm bowl of soup and top it off with a rich English Toffee Freezie. The wonderful folks from North Aire Market and Maggie and Mary’s are offering one of my lucky readers some Be Well Chicken Soup, English Toffee Freezie and Pop It! Top It! Popcorn.
