I’m excited to bring this review to you today about a new tween magazine BYOU (Be Your Own You!). This magazine is perfect for tween girls. It shows tweens how important is it to be your own you and models positive messaging about self esteem through fun and inspiring ways. The magazine features exclusive interviews with positive role model celebs from Disney and Nickelodeon. One of the issues I reviewed with my daughter featured Disney’s “So Random” stars Allisyn Arm & Audrey Whitby. So Random is one of her favorite shows so she was eager to read the article. These girls are best friends and talk about their friendship and answer questions about how they met and give their opinions on common issues our tweens today face like cyber bullying and what type of qualities does a true friend have.
You’ll find inspiring stories from real girls making a difference everywhere. Lots of articles on positive thinking, body image, self-esteem and bullying. There are fun puzzles, brain teasers and games plus more in every issue. Each issue features a chapter from award winning Heartlight Girls book Beauty’s Secret: A Girl’s Discovery of Inner Beauty plus tips for inner and outer beauty. Your child even has a chance to submit articles, poems and photos along with featured areas like “What It Means to Be Your Own You” or “How I Shine My Hearlight Bright”. Our girls need these kind of supporting magazines to read. What a great way to build self esteem and show our girls that there is an alternative and that it’s okay to Be Your Own You!
An annual subscription to this awesome magazine is $17.97. You can order it here. What a great gift to give a young girl! Thanks to BYOU Magazine my readers have a chance to win a subscription. Enter using the raffelcopter below. Good Luck!!

I love that it is still innocent and doesn’t try to push the girls to mature faster than they already do. It builds self esteem which is something my 11 year old daughter is totally lacking. She is legally blind and overweight and is afraid to approach people to make friends.
