My family is a huge fan of past from elbow macaroni to fettuccine, we like it all. The Pasta Shoppe has every kind of pasta you could think of. Pasta is made from 100% durum wheat and all natural vegetable powders are all that is used for pasta color, with the exception of the collegiate pasta, more on that variety later. For those concerned about allergens, the package is labeled “Contains wheat and egg”, but the entire plant is nut free. If you are looking for Kosher pasta, all of their pasta that is packaged by itself is Kosher, if it is packaged with seasoning packets, etc. it is not.
It is starting to cool off here in TN and what better to warm you up than a good ‘ol bowl of Chicken Noodle Soup. We used the Chicken Noodle Soup kit provided by The Pasta Shoppe, just add 10 cups of water, a can of chicken and a can of peas and carrots and you have enough Chicken Noodle Soup to serve 6-8 people. The seasoning packet provided was great, with plenty of chicken flavor and the kids really loved it and they are very hard to please with real Chicken Noodle Soup.
I have had a recipe called Scarecrow Chili that I have been wanting to make for a while and with Halloween just around the corner I decided to make it and use the Halloween Pasta. Nothing like a bowl of Chili with spiders and ghosts, the kids really thought these were cool.
The Pasta Shoppe also provides recipes for use with the pasta on some of the packages and they have even more recipes online. One recipe we decided to try with the Spinach Basil Garlic Angel Hair was the Creamy Three Cheese Sauce you can find here. The sauce is made with whole milk and light butter instead of heavy cream and regular butter to save a few calories. The Pasta Nests can be cooked and served as nests or you can separate them in the water to have traditional noodles.
Earlier I mentioned the collegiate pastas, The Pasta Shoppe has got you covered with over 50 officially licensed team pastas. They have teams from the ACC, Big 10, Big 12, Big East, PAC 12, SEC and others. Of course with me being from TN I got the UT Volunteer Pasta, Go Big Orange!
