Having a pet with allergies can be very overwhelming. Nala, our sheltie, had skin allergies from the time she was a year old. She would scratch and scratch and lick and lick until her skin would bleed. We first introduced her to the honest kitchen over a year ago when we found out they offered an alternative dog food that was good for her. Unfortunately Nala is no longer with us due to health issues beyond our control. As you may know we adopted a new little girl last year right before Christmas and introduced her to the honest kitchen products too. She loves them just like her sister did! We feel good feeding the honest kitchen to our dogs because we know they’re getting the nutrients they need to be healthy without the worry of all those additives.
I’m excited to introduce you to the newest line of products from the honest kitchen, the minimalist diet. The Minimalist Diet offers limited ingredients for dogs with sensitivities or for owners who want to feed a simple diet like we do. For our review Xena tried the honest kitchen Marvel. Marvel only contains six ingredients and is a turkey and parsnip grain free recipe. All ingredients are dehydrated. It contains cage-free turkey, parsnip, navy bean, organic coconut, pumpkin, parsley, vitamins and minerals. Mixing is easy just read the panel on the back and it tells you exactly how much food to water ratio you should use based on your pets weight. Xena loves this food. It’s funny because we keep it in our pantry on the floor and she knows exactly where it is. She’ll walk in and paw at the box to let us know she’s hungry. During the mixing process she never leaves the counter where we mix it and “talks” to us letting us know how excited she is to eat it. The minimalist line contains three recipes Brave, Marvel and Thrive. You can check them out on the honest kitchen website for more info on the other varieties they have to offer.
