Looking for a simple but creative party theme? There are countless themes you can choose from to help you throw a party that is one to remember. Use these tips and ideas to help you get inspired and take your party planning to the next level.
Chili Cook Off
There’s nothing like a chili throw down. Get all of you friends on board to make their best pot of chili and crown the winners. Consider having awards for the most original, best vegetarian version, best white chili, the hottest, or the most creative. Set up a toppings bar that includes sour cream, cheese, onions, and jalapeños. To make the meal complete, serve sides that go great with chili such as crackers, tortilla chips, and corn bread. Remember to create ballots for each guests and nametags to label each entry. Make sure no one knows who made each pot of chili!
Casino Night
If you want to have a great get together, plan a casino night with your friends. Start by getting your guests excited. Sent out personalized invitations that look like playing cards. You can purchase or rent tables, casino chips, playing decks of cards, and real or play money. Decorate with balloons in solid colors to match your poker chips and use a black market to put a dollar amount on each one. Consider serving snacks on silver trays. Offer champagne and other foods such as finger sandwiches, shrimp and meatballs.
Wine & Cheese Party
Looking for an excuse to sip some wine? Host a wine and cheese party. While it may not seem like a lot of food, you can serve guests a wheel of Brie and some other add on’s to fill your guests bellies. Visit a specialty store for the tastiest selection of cheeses. Make cheese labels and tasting cards so guests can keep track of which cheese they are sampling. Think about having some crusty French bread and a variety of crackers to go with the various types of cheese. About an hour before the guests are set to arrive, get your home clean quickly and remove the cheese from the refrigerator. Cheese has its fullest flavor at room temperature, so take it out of the refrigerator about an hour before the guests are set to arrive.
Pizza Party
Kids don’t get to have all the fun. Throw a homemade pizza party and invite all of your friends. Look for some old school pizza parlor decorations such as red and white gingham table clothes to decorate your kitchen and dining areas. Serve various types of pizza pies from classic pepperoni to a meats pizza with sausage, ham and bacon. Make a vegetable pizza with spinach, tomatoes and olives and have a barbeque chicken pizza, too. It’s a good idea to serve some white pies using béchamel or onion cream sauce.
If you want to host an original get-together and celebrate good times with your friends, consider one of these ideas for your next bash.
