I am sure you have heard of Lentils, they belong to the legume family and resemble a tiny bean, grow in pods, and come in red, brown, black, and green varieties. If you are not familiar with lentils you should be, because they are high in protein and fiber, relatively quick and easy to prepare, and their low cost makes them an accessible form of high quality protein for many people around the world. I have eaten lentils in soups and stews and substituted them for other beans, but there is another great purpose for them, a versatile, delicious snack food great at home or on the go.
Sometimes bigger isn’t better. Behold–the Mighty Lil’ Lentil, everyone’s Superhero snack. Seapoint Farms has taken this nutritional powerhouse and created a variety of artisan-crafted lentils that are truly rich in flavor and loaded with wholesome goodness. These crispy Lentils are fueled by plant-based protein, packed with nutrients, and bursting with flavor. Enjoy them on their own, pair them with your favorite beverage or add a crunch to your salads and trail mixes. How do you Lentil? Crunchy, remarkably tasty, and distinct from just about every packaged snack on the market, Mighty Lil’ Lentils are ready to be enjoyed at home, at work or on the go. Vegetarian, gluten-free,and NonGMO project verified, Mighty Lil’ Lentils are also rich in nutrients, vitamins and fiber, free of trans fat and cholesterol and naturally sustainable. In addition, two flavors (Falafel and Pink Himalayan Salt)are vegan. Are you ready to hop on the lentil train?
Mighty Lil’ Lentils are available in four varieties, Barbeque, Cinnamon, Sugar, Pink Himalayan Salt and Falafel. Our favorite flavor is the Pink Himalayan Salt. I think the salt just does such a good job of enhancing the flavor of the lentil and that is all that is needed, like a good salty peanut, they are just hard to beat. The Barbeque flavor is slightly sweet from the pineapple and molasses and pairs well with the smokiness. The falafel and cinnamon sugar flavors were our least favorites, to be honest I am not a fan of falafel in its traditional form and the cinnamon and sugar was just a little odd. I do find it is better if eaten in yogurt for example as a substitute for granola, but still not our favorite.
So how can you get your hands on these Mighty Lil’ Lentils? Just head over to Amazon or iHerb or search for a store near you here. I know you can’t wait to get your hands on some so Queen of Reviews has teamed up with Seapoint Farms to offer a giveaway of the four flavors listed above to one of my lucky readers.
