So when you go out and fire up your gas grill what is the first thing that comes to mind? It should be about how much you are going to love that thick and juicy Ribeye that you are about to throw on, but if you are like my husband it is probably more like “Geez, I hope I have enough Propane to finish.” The Propane never runs out when you are at the end of cooking so you could just hope there is enough heat left to finish it maybe throw it in the oven for a couple of minutes. The way it works for us is we get it started, warmed up, slap the food on it, shut the lid, go away for a few minutes and come back to find that it is no longer lit. Of course it does not just happen when it is just you and your kids, it happens when everybody is over for the 4th of July, Labor Day, always makes it a fun time. We have tried that sticker gauges that you throw hot water on and is supposed to show you show much gas is in the tank, they don’t work. We added a gauge inline to the propane tank, it is always in the green, making you feel good that you have enough, until you turn in on that one time and it is ion the red? How is that possible? The green area is 5 times as large as the red, last time it was in the middle of the green and now it is in the red?
You can make your life, especially your husband’s if he is the griller like mine so much better by just getting a GasWatch. This handy little gadget accurately measures how much propane is left in the tank. The display shows the percentage of gas and the cook time remaining based on the current weight of the propane tank. The GasWatch digital propane tank scale also includes a low level alarm that sounds when the tank weight is at 20%, 15%, and 10%. There is no connection to the propane tank so there is no chance of a leak. Fits inside the grilling cabinet with the digital display placed outside.
