The Kenmore brand has been around for over 100 years and is known as a brand that stands for quality, reliability and can be trusted. Offering everything from washing machines to refrigerators Kenmore is an innovative brand making products that help us cook better and live better. As most of you know I am an avid baker, I even recently started a baking business from my home, (shameless plug here) ABakersConfections.com. Since I really bake a lot I need tools that are reliable and consistent so I can constantly produce the same results over and over again. For as long as Chris I have been married I wanted a KitchenAid mixer, kind of the holy grail of the kitchen. A few years ago Chris bought me one and if you are not aware of the price, those things are expensive, like right under $500 expensive. He bought me the Professional version, 6 quart, bowl lift and I have absolutely loved it and thought it was the only mixer for me until I was introduced to the Kenmore Elite 5 Quart Stand Mixer.
So this mixer is 1 quart smaller which is not a huge deal, besides it also comes with a 3 quart bowl. I love how compact this mixer is and how about that color? It is gorgeous! When we purchased our new home we downsized the kitchen a little bit in exchange for higher end finishes so the counterspace is quite lacking so this pushes back into the corner leaving more counterspace.
I also love the tilt head feature of this mixture. With my bowl lift it is always a pain to lower the bowl and try to scrape the sides, a lot of time I end up having to remove the beater and detach the bowl to get in there good enough to scrape it.
You see that little glow in the bowl? Yes that is an LED light, a feature I have never seen on a KitchenAid and man does it make a difference. Trying to look at dark batter to see if all of the dry ingredients are mixed in is such a pain in the dark, but no longer an issue with the Kenmore Elite Stand Mixer. Also note the built in attachment hub that allows you to extend the functionality of this mixer even further.
Above you can see the SensiClick™ speed dial that ensures smooth starts and finishes so that every last drop of cream and spoonful of sauce stays in the five quart stainless steel bowl. Featuring variable speed controls, whether you’re mixing up chewy cookie dough, whipping up a frothy dessert topping or prepping stuffing for a turkey or chicken, you’ll have the power and speed to mix it right, all at your finger tips.
Tilting the head is just a flip of the locking lever and the tilt the head up.

I cannot say enough good things about this mixer, had it been around a few years ago it would have been on my wishlist over the KitchenAid. All of the same features of the KitchenAid and more at half the cost is just amazing. If you or someone you are shopping for has a stand mixer on their list look no further than the Kenmore Elite 5-Quart Stand Mixer. There is no better gift for the home baker and they will think of you every time they tilt that head to scrape the bowl or experience the magic of that LED light. Have always wanted one, but it was too cost prohibitive for me.
