Easter is right around the corner and if your household is like most with children you will soon be decorating those messy Easter Eggs, purple and blue fingers, the smell of vinegar and a messy kitchen are all in your future. Unless this year you use Halos in your Easter Themed Basket. I am sure you are familiar with Halos Mandarin Oranges, if not you are missing out. Halos are California grown mandarins. And while every Halo is a mandarin, not every mandarin can be a Halo. That’s because to earn their halos, every fruit must meet three requirements – easy to peel, seedless, and super sweet. Moreover, Halos are all natural, non-GMO (non-genetically modified), and just the right size for kids’ hands. For snacking, kids’ lunch boxes, and families on the go, they’re nature’s perfect treat.
I love that Halos are so easy to peel, the white part of a typical orange, the pericarp is virtually non existent which is great because I think it is way too bitter. We always have a bag of Halos in the fridge ready for lunch boxes or a quick snack.
The problem with traditional Easter Eggs is that I am normally the only one that ends up eating them or I make some blue and purple egg chicken salad, the kids are just not a fan of hard boiled eggs, but they love Halos. You can create a Easter Themed Halo Basket like we did with some foam stickers from your local craft store, or if you can get them in time Oriental Trading has these things online and they are dirt cheap. Our kids had a fun time decorating these Easter Halos and the mess? Well there really was not one other than some packaging and I know all of us will east these Easter treats.
You can pickup Halos at virtually any grocery store near you and we love buying ours in bulk at Costco, find a store near you here. Mix up Easter decorating time this year with Wonderful Halos!
