Stuffed Meatball Sliders

Ingredients

  • 1 and ½ pounds ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 8 ounces mozzarella , shredded
  • 4 garlic cloves , minced
  • 1 tablespoon basil
  • 1 tablespoon parsley
  • ½ cup panko
  • ¼ cup bacon pieces
  • 4 ounces Monterey Jack cheese , sliced into 12 cubes
  • 24 ounces tomato sauce
  • 12 slider buns
  • Salt & pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. In a large bowl, combine beef, egg, olive oil, 6 ounces mozzarella, garlic, basil, parsley, panko, bacon pieces, and salt & pepper.
  3. Form meat into 12 meatballs by rolling into a round ball, then flattening to wrap one of the cubed cheeses around it.
  4. Arrange meatballs in a 9×13 glass baking dish. Pour tomato sauce over meatballs.
  5. Bake for 30 minutes.
  6. When 5 minutes remain, sprinkle with remaining mozzarella. Serve on slider buns.
