I loved it two years ago when Mom and I went to their home in Turks and Caicos on our own for a week over Mother’s Day. It was so awesome to have my Mom all to myself for a whole week! We walked on the beach, went to the spa and enjoyed some delicious culinary experiences. Even when we were just reading together on the beach, it was still just Mom and me!

My favorite mothers day memory was definitely not a favorite when it happened but over the years had become a favorite to laugh about. I was little and my mom and I went to see my grandmother. We had a young boxer that was in his cage when we left. We came home to find he had broke out and chewed the buttons off the couch along with huge holes. Dragged the toilet bowl brush into the living room. Had a bag of bird seed that looked as if he shook all over the living room. Ate the carpet in a big spot and then went into my bedroom but couldn’t get the door back open so he then chewed the whole bottom part of the door. It was a disaster at the time but ever since it happened we’ve had to laugh. My mom and I spent the rest of that day cleaning up the mess.
