Today Wonder Forge works with partners such as Dr. Seuss, Disney Jr. and Nickelodeon and makes over 85 games. Wonder Forge always has games from the latest movies and characters that your kids love such as Despicable Me, Star Wars and more. This Holiday Season we received 4 games from the Ravensburger family to give a try and hope you will add them to your shopping list.
El Dorado is a deck-building game of perilous paths and rewarding riches. In a deck-building game each player starts with the same combination of cards – his or her deck. Use the cards to move your expedition and to purchase new and better cards. Add those new cards to your deck to improve it. Will you dare to search for the golden city? Assemble your expedition and lead it through the jungles of South America in this deck-building board game. You need to have a good plan, expert explorers, and the right equipment. Will you choose the scout, the photographer, or the prop plane? It is up to you to find the best route through the wilderness with your team and to win the race to El Dorado! Every route is a new challenge. Every game needs a new strategy!
Krazy Wordz is the word game of making sense out of nonsense. GARBUNA? What is that!? An “Australian marsupial”? A “brand of chocolate bar”? Or perhaps “somebody remarkably smart”? This crazy word fits only one of the task cards on the table. It may sound or look like it fits multiple cards, but it’s up to you to guess the correct one! In this outrageous game of weird words, you’ll want to put your creativity and quick-wittedness into high gear to win!
Despicable Me Eye Found It! is a great game for the younger kids, suitable for ages 4 and up. Hop in Lucy’s car and join the Minions on a wild road trip through the world of Despicable Me, from Gru’s lab and Paradise Mall, to Minion Beach and more! Along the way, search for hidden objects; there are over 1,000 things to find! With the help of fellow players, race to the end of the giant game board before the amusement park closes to win!
Banned words is the ultimate party game. Give clues to your teammates and get them to guess the 5 things on your card. Here’s the catch! The other team sees your card first and writes down the 16 Banned Words they think you might say!
We took Banned Words to our Thanksgiving get together this year and it was so much fun. It is particularly a great party game because it can accommodate 4 or more players! We had 12 people playing and divided teams evenly between boys and girls. Pictured above is all of us listening tentatively as my sister reads the rules. The game is pretty simple. At the start of each round, each team (red and blue) receives a card showing five words or phrases. Team members then write down up to sixteen words they think someone on the other team might use while trying to get their teammates to guess these secret words. Once each team has written down their “banned” words, one person on each team is designated as the clue-giver, then they swap cards.
The clue-giver on the blue team then starts giving clues to their teammates; if this clue-giver says any of the words that the red team wrote down prior to the start of the round, someone on the red team holds up the card holding the word and says it out loud. Once time runs out, the blue team scores 1 point for each secret word or phrase correctly guessed, and the red team scores 1 point for each time the blue clue-giver said a banned word. The red clue-giver then takes their turn. After three complete rounds, whichever team has scored the most points wins. This game was so crazy and even more so with us divided by gender because the words a girl may use to try to describe a basket can vary drastically from how a boy would get his team to describe it. The boys went for fruit trees and what you would put the picked fruit in to get to the word basket, while us girls wrote down words that would describe a gift basket, two totally different ways of thinking. Banned Words is available exclusively at Target while Krazy Wordz, El Dorado and Despicable Me Eye Found It! are available at online retailers such as Amazon and local stores nationwide. Pickup a game or two or maybe even four today for those on your shopping list or for game time on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!
