I learned how to inject a turkey! I’ve never tried that before. I usually create a mix of butter and some spices, then pull up the skin of the turkey in a bunch of places and shove a spoonful of the spiced butter in there and then cook it like that

I never realized that you are supposed to check the temp of different parts of the turkey! Normally I just stick the thermometer in, so now I know to check the stuffing and breast/thigh too!

First, allow your cooked turkey to sit for about 20 minutes before starting to carve.
Beginning halfway up the breast, slice straight down with an even stroke.
When the knife reaches the cut above the wing joint, the slice should fall free on its own.
Continue to slice breast meat by starting the cut at a higher point each time.

Well basically I learned how to prepare a Turkey much better than I would’ve prior to not visiting the site. My cousin and I plan to surprise my grandma, incorporate her stuffing recipe, and cook the whole thanksgiving dinner for our family :).

I always forget the temperature for when it is done – since I only cook turkey at Thanksgiving. So maybe I will remember this year now that I looked it up (You’ll need a meat thermometer to make sure you cook your turkey to the right temperature. Insert it close to, but not touching, the thigh bone. If it reads 180 degrees F in the thigh and 170 degrees F in the breast, it’s done and ready to serve). We always cook it in our oven!
