Eco Nuts was started by Mona, a scientist among other things and Scott, the serial entrepreneur. Mona and Scott were always bothered by their walks on the beach seeing all of those so called eco laundry detergent bottles littering the beach. Mona also had sensitive skin, suffering from eczema and skin allergies, she was using the detergent recommended by her doctor, but continued to have problems. While researching different ways to clean their laundry, yet not irritate Mona’s skin they discovered soap nuts. They loved the product, but were disappointed to see that it was packaged in a lot of plastic so they founded Eco Nuts with the goal to be as plastic free and eco-friendly as possible, from contents to container. They wanted to be sure no one would ever find a plastic bottle on the beach from their company, so they decided not to use plastic jugs at all.
Eco Nuts truly has everything to handle your laundry needs, from their soap nuts, to organic liquid soap to baby laundry powders and liquids. Soap Nuts are actually dried berries from a tree that grows in the Himalayas. When agitated in water, they produce a naturally occuring surfactant called saponin, which gently cleanses laundry, an option for those sensitive to conventional laundry detergents. Soap Nuts are easy to use, just place 4-5 berries in the provided cloth bag and toss it in with your clothes. These little berries will suds up naturally and all so act as fabric softener on the rinse cycle, plus they can be reused up to 10 times making them very affordable.
The Organic Laundry Soap is certified USDA organic and made from an organic soapberry extract and contains no dyes, fragrances, fillers, enzymes or optical brighteners and is never tested on animals.. As you can see in the pic above it comes concentrated in an aluminum bottle with a pump top for easy dispensing. The aluminum bottle is better for the environment than plastic. It recycles as easily as a soda can and saves energy compared to plastic.
I love using Eco Nuts products, our clothes come out just as clean as they do with the non-organic detergents, but I feel so much better knowing there are no chemicals or dyes, if organic food is better for inside our body, organic laundry soap has to be better for the outside. Normally when I hear organic, the first thought that comes to mind is pricey, but Eco Nuts products are very comparable to our normal brands and I love that I can throw the aluminum bottles and plastic free paperboard in our recycling bins. All Eco Nuts products can be purchased online here, all orders of $49 or more ship free in the Continental US or find a retailer near you here.
Eco Nuts has teamed up with Queen of Reviews to offer a couple of their great products for one of my lucky readers.
