I am a huge fan of puzzles and always have been since I was a child. I love the challenge of the puzzle and yet it is so peaceful, just me and the puzzle pieces. As you can imagine when I was contacted about reviewing some 3D Puzzles from Ravensburger I was up for the challenge! This is my first experience with a 3D puzzle and it is similar to a normal puzzle while being different at the same time. My 9 year old daughter and I first sat down with all of the pieces on the table and said whoa, where do you start? With a regular puzzle I like to find the edge pieces and work my way in, that tactic will not work on a 3D puzzle though. We quickly realized the pieces were numbered and after that, we were on our way. These 3D Puzzles feature patented EasyClick Technology – no delaminating, peeling, or glue required, so they go together very well. We were sent two puzzles to try, the Tula Moon Eiffel Tower, which my daughter loved and the Light Up Empire State Building, which my son loved, so guess where the completed masterpieces are. That’s right in each of their rooms.
The Tula Moon Eiffel Tower 3D Puzzle consists of 216 pieces and stands 18″ tall.
The Empire State Building at Night is also 216 pieces and creates a sturdy light up model. The puzzle uses a LED light base in the bottom that accepts 3 AAA batteries. Just turn it on and watch it cycle through all of the beautiful colors.
We really enjoyed assembling these puzzles, spending quiet family time together, no TV, iPad or computer, just us and the puzzles. These 3D Puzzles would make an awesome gift, especially for that special Dad coming up for Father’s Day. Ravensburger products can be purchased online through Amazon, the Ravensburger website or find a retailer near you here.
