We all receive gift cards that we don’t want or sometimes I receive a gift card, buy what I want with it and still have money left on it and don’t really want to buy anything else. Thanks to Cardpool we can sell those unwanted gift cards, plus we can also buy gift cards at a discounted rate. Cardpool makes it ridiculously easy to buy and sell pre-owned gift cards. Customers can buy gift cards for up to 35% off or sell unwanted gift cards for cash for up to 92% of its value. Since Anson and Tim founded Cardpool in 2009, they’ve quickly become the preferred way to buy or sell gift cards. They’ve been featured on CNN, NBC, CBS, ABC, FOX, NPR, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal, and their previous investors include the founders, CEOs, and investors of Google, Facebook, PayPal, Zappos, StubHub, Twitter, Skype, and Lotus.
How this all works is very easy, Cardpool is like a big gift card exchange that connects buyers and sellers all over the world. Say you received a $25 gift card and used part of it and only have $7.52 left, you can still sell it. Shopping for gift cards is so easy and you can narrow your search by category or merchant, the only thing I feel is missing here is being able to filter to by dollar amount, if I knew I needed $45 for a home improvement project this weekend it would be nice to filter by a value or range of values.
Check out these awesome values currently available from Cardpool. These are available only from 3/17-3/31 so do not wait!
My husband and I love The Cheesecake Factory and we were just talking the other day about how long it has been since we have had a piece of their Linda’s Fudge Cake which is absolutely to die for so we searched Cardpool for The Cheesecake Factory and found several cards to choose from in varying denominations, all at a discounted rate saving up to 6.5%.
Cardpool does state that it could take up to 24 hours to ship/send your first order. After purchasing my electronic gift cards (you can also purchase physical gift cards that will be mailed to you) I received an email within minutes with a link that had me answer a few verification questions, per Cardpool this security measure is only needed the first time and within a few minutes my gift cards were in my inbox. For me Cardpool is great and will definitely be my go to place in the future for purchasing gift cards either for myself or for gifts. The only con for me was the lack of filtering by dollar amount and some categories may have 30 merchants in it, but there are only a couple of merchants that actually have gift cards available, but since you are buying gift cards that other users are selling there will be this constant fluctuation of having a cards for this merchant and not having gift cards for another merchant so there is not really much that can be done about that although you can request a gift card that you cannot find here.
