Easy Fried Chicken
This chicken was soooo juicy from soaking it in the water. When my husband cut his piece it squirted on his shirt. I guess this will be our new measurement of how juicy chicken is 🙂
Ingredients
- 1 chicken cut into 8 pieces (or cheat like we did and use split breasts)
- 1 quart of water
- 1 1/2 cups of flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
Instructions
-
Heat deep fryer to 375 degrees. Wash chicken thoroughly and trim excess fat. Soak chicken pieces in water for 3-4 minutes. Mix the flour, salt and pepper. Remove the chicken from the water and only shake off part of the water, do not pat dry (chicken should be moist). Dredge the pieces in the flour mixture. Fry for 12-15 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 170 degrees. You can also fry in a skillet, turning once to brown both sides until temperature reaches 170 degrees. When golden brown drain pieces on a paper towel.
