Pepper Pong is the new, portable racquet game that blends the best parts of table tennis with pickleball. It can be played indoors or outdoors on any table or flat surface. We’re a pretty competitive family when it comes to game playing. After we recently had to say goodbye to our well-loved ping pong table we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to try out Pepper Pong and share our experience with you. Pepper Pong came to us quickly and arrived in its own carrying case.
The Pepper Pong travel bag includes four mullets or paddles, three foam balls or peppers (all different for different gameplay), and one free-standing plastic fence or net. The mullets or paddles have soft foam so you won’t damage your furniture and are lightweight and easy to handle. The three foam balls or peppers are pink (firmest bounce), yellow (medium bounce), and green (lowest bounce). We tried all three and switching up from game to game definitely kept us on our toes. We started with the lowest bounce and worked our way up to the firmest bounce. We were laughing so much. Maybe next time we’ll start with the firmest bounce.
The Pepper Pong fence is free-standing and requires nothing more than unfolding and placing it in the middle of the surface you’re playing on. It can be unfolded from 15″-50″. For our gameplay, we chose our dining room table which seats 8 people so our surface was wide enough to fully extend our fence. As you can see Chris was ready to start this friendly competition.
The Pepper Pong game uses rally scoring, a point awarded to the winner no matter who served. The first player to 11 points wins the game as long as they are ahead by 2 points or play continues until a player wins by 2 points. Matches are played the best out of 3 or 5 games. We played a total of five rounds of Pepper Pong. The final game score was Chris’s 1-game win vs. Justine’s 4-game win. We can’t recommend this game enough. This game is great for people of ALL ages! We can’t wait until all of our kids are home for Christmas so we can share this game with them. It will be perfect with the colder weather moving in.
