Have you ever wished you could just press a button on your Android phone to perform an action? Maybe open the camera, snap a quick photo or turn on the flashlight? That is what Pressy can do. It adds a button to your cell phone that you can associate with a wide variety of actions. Pressy is so easy to setup and use, just pop it in the headphone jack of your compatible Android device, install the app and start setting it up.
The Pressy App has quite a few functions that can be associated with Pressy right out of the box, flashlight, text message, camera, voice recorder, videos etc. Pressy works off of the number of presses so say you call or text your spouse often you could set one press to begin a text message or phone call to them. My husband recently switched from an iPhone to the Galaxy S5 and one thing he really misses is being able to turn on the flashlight without having to unlock the phone. He gets up when it is still dark out and likes to use his flashlight to maneuver through the bedroom so he does not wake me up (nice of him isn’t it). So he configured Pressy to open the flashlight when he presses it three times.
I know you may be thinking “I like to use my ear buds, but now Pressy is going to tie up my headphone jack”. First of all Pressy includes this cool little holder to place it in on your keychain so you dont misplace it, it is kinda small. Secondly, when you plug any device into the headphone jack the Pressy will pop up and ask if that is Pressy that is inserted or if it is your headset. If you choose headset you can listen to music as normal, but if your headphones also have a media button you can use it the same as Pressy.
Pressy is available in black, blue, red and white. An important thing to note is that Pressy is for Android devices only and will not work on iOS or Windows devices. While we have thoroughly enjoyed using Pressy we did have issues from time to time. I think it comes down to an app recognizing you are pressing a button. The speed at which you press Pressy three times will most likely be different than how fast I press Pressy three times so sometimes I think it gets confused. My husband did find himself on several occasions having a problem getting his flashlight to turn on or it would delay and turn on and then back off, it could also depend on the device and what else is running on it that may slow the response time.
Pressy can be purchased in your choice of color from get.pressybutton.com. The wonderful folks from Pressy have been nice enough to offer 3 Gold Pressys to three of my lucky readers. Notice when I listed the colors earlier I did not list Gold, because it is limited availability and cannot be ordered by just anyone. Check back here this Saturday 11/1 to enter and be sure to show Pressy some love on facebook and twitter.
