Last weekend we headed out to Shuckles Corn Maze at Fiddle Dee Farms in Greenbrier, TN for opening day and a day of family fun, they are open now through November 6, 2016. There are quite a few activities that are included with general admission and then there are some additional activities such as zip lining, paintball and buying pumpkins that can be purchased with Shuckle Bucks which are an additional purchase. We visited last year and had an awesome time and had heard they had added some new items, such as the jumping pillow so we had to go back and check it out.
Our first stop was to get a picture of the kids and this is what happens when you try to get four of them to look at you. I bet I took 10 pictures and none of them had all 4 looking in the same direction so I opted for this goofy picture. I swear they were easier to take pictures of when they were in preschool.
One of our favorite activities from last year was the hayride so it was one of the first activities we did and as the day goes on Shuckle’s gets busier and the lines for the hayride get longer. We recommend going earlier in the day if possible to miss some of the crowds. This year Shuckle’s added this kid to the hayride, of course I cannot remember his name so we will call him balloon kid. He chatted with us and made balloon animals at the requests of the kids.
If you are anywhere near my age I bet you spent many recesses on a see-saw. It is sad that kids today sit on these and say “What am I supposed to do?” It is great to get them out and away from their electronics and let them experience some good ‘ol fun that does not require batteries.
Petting zoos are always fun, I don’t care how old you are.
Hannah’s friend, Madison is the only one of them that was brave enough to try the slide. She was movin! I barely got her in the pic.
Here are the girls being corny. Since this was a our second year to visit we were glad to see that they had changed the maze. Last year the boys made it out first, this year the girls won, next year will be the tie breaker!
The all new jumping pillow was the last thing we visited before we left for the day and as you can see the kids were having a great time.
If you get hungry while visiting you can check out The Fiddler’s Stop and grab a hamburger, hot dog and even fried pickles and for dessert be sure to visit The Butterstick Bakery for everything pumpkin from Pumpkin Cheesecake to Pumpkin Fudge. We really enjoyed our visit to Shuckle’s Corn Maze at Fiddle Dee Farms. There are several of these types of farms around the Nashville area available for Fall and Halloween visits and I would say Shuckle’s is one of the best in the area with plenty of attractions. We do feel that the price of admission is a little pricey, well over $50 for a family of 5 like ours. Check out the gallery below for all of the pictures from our trip and be sure to head over here to get your $2 off coupon and check out Shuckle’s on facebook.
