The Farmer’s Dog is all about offering a smarter, healthier pet food that is real food, made fresh and delivered to your door. Each recipe is carefully formulated by their board-certified veterinary nutritionists to be complete and balanced according to AAFCO standards, and they use all human-grade ingredients to do so. Each recipe is cooked in their human-grade kitchens right here in the U.S., and quickly frozen for transport. All meals are packaged perfectly to your dog’s needs so your food never sits on a shelf for months at a time, and you don’t have to trust packaging that can fail and produce mold.

Your The Farmer’s Dog meals arrive in a sturdy box, outlined in thick insulating foam and dry ice.
You will find multiple pouches of food, a feeding guide and a convenient tray to store opened pouches in your fridge if necessary for the next meal.
The feeding guide has all the details about storing, do you need to defrost and properly portioning the meals. So all of this sounds great, it is human grade food for your pet, but all of that means nothing if your pet does not like it right? Fortunately for us that is not anything we had to worry about, Xena absolutely loved it. We have tried a similar product in the past and for whatever reason, Xena would not eat it cold. We had to heat it up a little which we were told reduced some of the positive benefits of the food, but we had no choice if we wanted her to eat it. Xena ate The Farmer’s Dog meals straight from the fridge. As you can see in the pics above the food is pretty smooth, no real chunks, compared to the previous food we fed her had large chunks of chicken. Maybe that is the difference that she did not like and I cannot help but think this food, being less coarse has to be easier for her to digest.
So would I recommend this food for your pet, I absolutely would. The only barrier I see for this product and it was the same for the other product is the price point. Not everybody is going to spend a little less than $100 per week to feed their pet, heck I am a budget shopper and do not spend much more than that to feed our family of 6. If you want fresh food, with real ingredients very similar to what you feed yourself and your family then The Farmer’s Dog definitely delivers.
