In my 70+ years, the single biggest change I have seen is that children are not outside playing like they used to. Where are the packs of kids who used to play pick-up basketball or touch football? I don’t even see children riding bicycles much anymore

During spring and summer, they get plenty of outside time. I have no hesitation about channeling my inner 1970’s mom and chasing them out into the backyard. In winter, though, it’s so gloomy and cold, plus it’s dark by the time they get home from school, that they barely play outside at all.
