AcuRite is owned by the Chaney Instrument Co., a leading manufacturer of precision time, temperature and weather products since 1943.AcuRite is the #1 top selling brand in weather products. From digital thermometers to wireless sensors, AcuRite products are widely recognized for accuracy, quality and ease of use. They offer environmental information products for every niche; whether you are a gardener, aviator, sportsman or a homeowner looking for localized data, AcuRite has you covered with their top quality rain gauges, barometers, hygrometers, thermometers, indoor and outdoor monitors, pool thermometers, wind sensors, wireless weather instruments, weather stations and weather forecasters.
The AcuRite What-to-Wear Weather Station consists of the display unit that you place in an area of the home that is used quite often or close to a door that you exit from so you can see what the weather is going to be like before you leave. The other component is the wireless weather sensor that needs to be placed outside, we hung ours on a tree in the front yard. The sensor can transmit up to 165 feet so it really can be placed anywhere. We placed our display unit in the kitchen since that seems to be the place where everybody hangs out and when the kids come downstairs in the morning asking if they should wear pants or shorts I can say “Go look at the little man and see what he is wearing”. Here in Tennessee we are slowly transitioning into fall, yesterday it was 85 degrees and today the high is supposed to be in the mid 70’s so predicting what to wear from day to day is just not possible at the moment and this is where the What-to-Wear Weather Station really shines.
The display has all of the info that you need to predict your day. Starting at the top left you will see an arrow pointing to the right. If the arrow is pointing straight across that means conditions should be staying on the current trend. If the arrow is curving up, the weather is trending towards more favorable conditions and if it is curving down, conditions are worsening. The cloud to the right illustrates if it is sunny, cloudy, raining, etc, under that on the left you have the current date and time, below that is the outside temp and below that is the humidity inside and the temp inside to the right of that. The little man on the right is your What-to-Wear guide for the day. Today he is wearing pants and a long sleeve shirt since it is a little cool outside. This little guy could be holding an umbrella if it was raining or could be wearing a pair of shorts if it was warmer, so easy to see at a glance what you need to wear for the day.

This thing is beyond awesome! My favorite feature is the cool display screen of the inside unit, that says the inside temp and well as the outside. I am always opening the door to feel before I get dressed in the morning.
