My new favorite appliance in the kitchen is the Fagor Platino Juicer Plus Sorbet Maker. As you are all aware of I am on a mission to eat healthier myself and also get my family eating healthier. We used to buy those juices that claimed to be healthy, but were just full of sugar, preservatives and “Natural Flavors”, who knows what those are. We are all also big fans of ice cream, but they are also packed full of all kinds of chemicals that half of I don’t know what they are. Fruits have their own natural sweetness so why not make juice or sorbet by simply using the fruit? I know you may be thinking, I don’t want to squeeze a bunch of oranges and deal with all that extra prep work, but you don’t have to, the Fagor Platinio Juicer and Sorbet Maker does the work for you.
This juicer and sorbet maker comes with all you need, a 35 oz. pulp collector, a 35 oz. juice collector and a cleaning brush, plus a recipe book to get you started and all plastic parts that come in contact with food are BPA free. This juicer uses a 2 step process so that juice is extracted twice before it hits your glass.
That same two step process is used when you make a sorbet which means the frozen fruit is ground more finely producing a smoother texture. I made the sorbet above the other day with simply frozen strawberries and pineapple, it took no time and I had a delicious, refreshing frozen dessert. I cannot wait until this summer to make sorbet and juice with fresh fruits from our garden and the farm down the road, it is going to be great. We also recently started drinking Almond Milk, which can be pricey, but with the Platino Juicer we can make our own Almond Milk, that is the next thing to try on our list.
